Tom O'Dea
Tom ODea is an accomplished leader with 25+ years' experience in executive people leadership across multiple industries and geographies. He has worked in telecommunications for the last 12 years, gaining unique insights into digital inclusion and the resilience of telecommunications networks in emergencies.


He recently graduated from the Australian Rural Leadership Foundation’s Regenerate Capital Region program, focusing on disaster response preparedness. He believes building trusted networks across boundaries and agencies will empower communities to respond to future fire emergencies.

Alongside his professional endeavours, he is a dedicated volunteer. Recognized with an Australia Day Individual Community Service Award, he and his son clear rubbish and maintain Hatton's Corner Nature Reserve and he is also a volunteer operations manager of the Friends of Yass Gorge Landcare group.

As the Head of nbn’s regional stakeholder and community business unit, nbn Local, he is passionate about bridging the digital divide and proud of his team’s recent collaboration with the NSW Government Department of Regional NSW in enabling enhanced nbn services to over 11,000 homes and businesses in regional NSW via the Gig State program, bolstering Australia's digital backbone – the nbn.
